Canada Asian Gypsy Moth Vessel Inspection

agm ins1.jpgThe Canada and US Government have regulated for Asian Gypsy Moth (AGM) off-shore inspections on vessels saling from Japan to the Canadian and US ports. This is due to the presence of AGM in Japan and concern that this pest can transit by hitch-hiking on vessels.

JEVIC are approved by the Canadian gorvernment for the conduct of the AGM Vessel Inspection.

All vessels inspected in Japan are issued with a Freedom Of AGM Certificate allowing for pre-clearance into the Canadian and US ports. Vessels that have not undergone this inspection may result in delays and inspections being conducted 5 nautical miles off shore. JEVIC advise undertaking the AGM vessel inspection in Japan before departure.
