Due to the ongoing issues at the Fukushima first nuclear power plant in Japan, there is an essential need to ensure that all cargo exported from the area has been inspected and certified for the absence of radioactive contamination.
This is necessary to assure trading partners, including stakeholders such as regulatory bodies and the public at large, that the cargo and conveyance pose no risk in terms of radioactive contamination.

Details of the Radiation inspection
1. Proper equipments utlize the measurement for radiation level.
2. Issuance of a Radiation Inspection certificate.
3. “Radiation free” labeling for cargo.
4. The JEVIC Radiation Inspection standards are based upon the International Maritime
Dangerous Goods Code (IMDG Code) and IAEA Safety Standards.
5. Determination of the radiation level will be in either microsievert per hour (μSv/h) or
becquerel per square centimeter (Bq/cm2).
