JEVIC Safe Roads
Road Safety is a worldwide concern and road traffic injuries constitute a major public health and development crisis (World Health Organization, 2004).
JEVIC’s main goal in the conduct of pre-shipment Roadworthiness Inspections (RWI) is to ensure that the vehicles are safe for use.
To complement this work, the JEVIC SAFE ROADS Campaign was initiated with the support of the Kenya Bureau of Standards, Uganda National Bureau of Standards, Arrive Alive Uganda and the Zambia Bureau of Standards.
This focuses on increasing the awareness of the road safety message by applying JEVIC SAFE ROADS stickers to inspected vehicles. These stickers contain pertinent road safety messages, which keeps road safety at the forefront of the road users mind.
JEVIC is committed to reducing the harm caused by road accidents. For every vehicle inspected by JEVIC, JEVIC will be making a financial contribution to the promotion of safe roads.
